There are plenty of ways to "hack" some routers to boost performance but this little tip is easy, cheap, fun, and anyone can do it with things you have laying around the house. While using my laptop in my kitchen I improved from 12mbps to 18mbps. Keeping in mind that I have a crappy d-link router that needs replacing.
