5 Best New Bands of '03
I'm going to make a few posts reguarding music in 2003. This will be the first. Soon I will also post the top 10 alblums of 2003. Note that all rankings and opinions are mine, so if so and so disagrees, too bad! If some of these bands have been around for more than a year, they are making this list because they "made it big" this year, or I just found out about them.

5. Dizzee Rascal - Yes another British rapper, and this one has got some major skill. Mixed with some origional and diffrent beats, this young rapper is one to check out.
4. The Shins - Almost reminds me of a combination of the Beach Boys and Beck. Hard to describe but very pleasent to listen to.
3. Travis - The 12 Memories cd is fantastic. If you like good rock music you should check out this band. Some notable songs include "Happy to Hang Around", "Quicksand", "Beautiful Occupation", and "Peace the...".
2. Evanescence - At first I thought this would be just another crappy almost metal band but after listening more and more they are quite impressive. Amy Lee has one of the best voices on american radio right now.
1. The Darkness - This band is just awesome. Their cd permission to land is just sweet. "I Believe in a thing Called Love" is one of the best singles that has been released in recent years.
